  • Cab view from Kamakura Station to Yokohama Station on the JR Yokosuka Line. Photographed in January 2024. After leaving Kamakura Station, there is a short section where the focus is out of focus due to vibration. note that.
The Yokosuka Line is a line that connects Ofuna Station and Kurihama Station. Japanese Navy facilities were established in Yokosuka City in the 1880s, and the city has since developed into a military port town. The Yokosuka Line was also used by many military personnel and government officials, so it was one of the lines that was quickly modernized.
After World War II, it developed as a commuter route to Tokyo. Currently, many trains run via Ofuna Station on a line built parallel to the Tokaido Main Line, passing through Tokyo Station and running directly to the Yokosuka Line and the line in Chiba Prefecture on the other side of Tokyo Bay. doing. Destinations include Narita and Kimitsu.
In this video, a train runs north from Kamakura Station, an intermediate station on the Yokosuka Line, to Yokohama Station. Along the way, the Tokaido Main Line and freight lines run parallel. When you leave Hodogaya Station, you will see the Sotetsu Line on your left. Yokohama Station on the Sotetsu Line is on the second floor of a building on your left.
The recently trending heat-absorbing glass is used on the front of this railway vehicle, and the color balance continues to change. I'm trying to correct it little by little, but it's quite difficult. Thank you for your understanding.

What an interesting line. A little mountain line, early on. Out across flat land. Running alongside other lines. Going up and over other lines. Crowds at the stations. Winter weeds. Neat hills packed with homes. And topped off with a beautiful winter sky. And a couple of interesting trains going the other way. A great video.

As housing expanded into the suburbs, transportation capacity was increased, resulting in the line becoming what it is today. Tracks that used to be used for freight have been repurposed for passenger use, and the operation system has become more complex.

Door chimes are now used on most railways in Japan.

This episode was a nice change of pace from the smaller rail lines. From the tunnels to the sheer openess of seven to eight sets of tracks, on must say this was awesome. Love the varying types of train models, too. I do have a question about the longer trains. Are the two middle cars different because they are connectors or do they serve another purpose? Either way, keep up the cool videos. Much love from NYC!

The two double-decker cars in the middle are first class (named green cars). Users of this vehicle can sit, relax, and even work on their laptops. I think it's the same in America and Europe. Unfortunately, there are no drinks or other items for sale. It was tried several times but was eventually abandoned.
